The Ministry of Education further advised that a meeting will be held in June with principals of primary schools to discuss, among other things, the results of the Common Entrance Examination, along with strategies for better performance among students from Kindergarten to Grade 6. They also announced that a bridging programme will be conducted in July to assist Grade 6 students who are reading below the level of Grade 4.

Teachers will participate in a 2 week training session to plan for the bridging programme.

In addition, during the academic year 2006/07, data will be collected from teachers, parents and students to determine the effectiveness of the bridging programmes of 2005 and 2006.
