Administrative Professionals focus on improving work status

With the Caribbean Single Market and Economy (CSME) coming on stream, efforts are being made to equip professionals from the public and private sector with the necessary tools to enhance their abilities, develop better work etiquette and improve their current work status.

This will be the focus of the 2006 Annual Briefing for Administrative Professionals which will be held under the theme “Fast Forward: Managing Change and Creating Opportunities For Success” at the Kingstown Methodist Church Hall on Wednesday, April 26.{{more}}

The event is a joint effort of Professional Secretarial & Consultancy Services Inc, Corporate Trainers Inc. of Barbados and Target Learning Corporation, of the USA.

“This programme is designed for administrative professionals to improve their ability, to tap their talents and passion, and improve their ability to build better relationships,” said Camille Crichton, Managing Director of Professional Secretarial & Consultancy Services Inc. Crichton said the event will provide employers with an opportunity to show their appreciation to their administrative staff by having lunch with them.

The programme will take the form of a luncheon followed by a live interactive Video conference sponsored by Cable & Wireless with keynote speaker Stephen Covey, author of “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People” and “The 8th Habit”. In 1996 Stephen R.Covey was recognized as one of Time magazine’s 25 most influential Americans and one of Sales and Marketing Management’s top 25 power brokers.

Other presenters are The International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) President Kay Enlow and Author of “Nuts! Southwest Airlines Crazy Recipe for Business” Jackie Freiberg.

Jennilee Glasgow, Corporate Communications/Mobile Product Executive, said that Cable & Wireless is extremely pleased to sponsor the video conference. She disclosed that it will not only be viewed regionally but internationally in countries such as the United States and Canada and European countries as well. A total of 26 countries will be viewing the event.
