Candice Carr, Principal of the School for Children with Special Needs stated that she was grateful for the funds, which she hopes to use to improve the school’s programme. She also mentioned that she hopes this is a start towards getting persons involved in working with children with disabilities and hopes that members from the Young Leaders programme would take up careers in such fields.

The school, which is located in Georgetown, currently has an enrollment of 15, but hopes to accommodate more students in the future. This event marks the end of Adelphi Secondary School Young Leaders’ Group Project for 2006.
