On March 13, Prime Minister Dr. Ralph Gonsalves made the announcement that Prime Minister Bedawi would visit St.Vincent and the Grenadines later this year.

Likewise, Prime Minister Bedawi has invited Dr. Gonsalves to Malaysia again in 2006. This might be done in May or September to follow-up on certain bi-lateral matters that were discussed on Dr. Gonsalves’ recent trip to Malaysia.

Currently, Prime Minister Gonsalves is deepening this country’s relationship with Malaysia, a member of the Non-Aligned Movement.

The Prime Minister, who visited Malaysia, Singapore and London from February 24-March 10, at the time said Malaysia with a population of 23 million people, along with Singapore (4 million persons) has moved decisively into the front rank of markets which have recently emerged.

He added that they constitute for St.Vincent and the Grenadines the entrance for other emerging South East Asian countries of significance such as Indonesia and Thailand.

Meanwhile, Dr. Gonsalves has announced that on April 20, the Director General of Finance and Planning, Maurice Edwards and himself, will be having a meeting in London with SACE to advance the process for the settlement of the Ottley Hall matter.
