This was disclosed by Dr. Gonsalves on Monday, March 13.

The idea, he explained, was conceived while he was traveling to different parts of the world in his capacity as Prime Minister.

He said the 15-member board will consist of “persons of real quality internationally in diverse areas”.

He noted these persons will be drawn from all over the world in the areas of finance, entrepreneurship, industry, entertainment, and sports to assist in national development.

This country’s economy is moving to a service-based one, said Dr. Gonsalves, adding that we have to seek the opportunities which are available.

“All the things we have been doing in our first term laid the basis for a take off and we have to make sure that those things come to fruition and we begin to use that basis for the take off in our second into our third term,” said Dr. Gonsalves.

Prime Minister Abdullah Bedawi of Malaysia, has been singled out as the one whom Dr. Gonsalves will ask to officially open the launch of the Global Economic Advisory Council if he gets everything put together in time for his visit here.
