Sekhar who is here on vacation said he was delighted to have a small part to play in assisting the school and declared his willingness to do more. The Prime Minister said that Sekhar has a special interest in Special Education and will be signing a memorandum soon. The signing will formalize Sekhar’s intention to build a Centre of excellence to train teachers and students here.

Sekhar also noted that the institution would not only offer opportunities locally but would also be extended throughout the Caribbean.

Dr. Gonsalves said he has not forgotten the schools in Bequia and Georgetown. He said Special Education has been an area of weakness in the Education Revolution and although some strides have been made over the past five years, they were not enough and that the government is seeking to do more.
