Addressing the AGM Pompey said that the Jaycees is a leadership training organization that is well positioned to develop business leaders in our communities. It is recognized by many that St. Vincent’s strategic agenda for competitiveness must include the building of the entrepreneur skill base to deal with the challenges of CSME.

The Single Market began earlier this month and Jaycees leverage, among other things, includes a local resource of senior members who are business leaders, the Jaycees Brand and a regional network (the West Indies Junior Chamber). Therefore, the Jaycees have the corner stones for addressing future challenges in practical way that will bring benefits to our members and by extension our nation.

Pompey applauded the efforts of private and public organizations that are working tirelessly to develop entrepreneurship and the private sector. These efforts help to increase our export potential and reduce poverty. He said that Jaycees will seek to work together with these organizations and entities that have similar cause.
