Bartenders, cooks get awards

The St Vincent and the Grenadines Hotel and Tourism Association held its first ever Culinary and Bartender competitions on Sunday 20th November at the Gazebo in Villa. The Chefs were required to prepare a soup and a main course, the Pastry Chefs a dessert to serve eight persons and the bartenders a rum-based and an non-alcoholic drink.{{more}}

In the Chef competition first place went to MacLean Sampson of Raffles Resort Canouan, second place Christopher John of Young Island Resort and third place, Vibert Barnum, also of Young Island Resort.

In the Bartenders competition first place went to King Fields of Young Island Resort, second place to Marlon Friday of Frangipani Hotel and a tie for third place went to Austin Tittle of Roy’s Inn and Michael Robinson of Raffles Resort Canouan.

Marrolin Ollivierre of Young Island Resort captured the winning position in the Pastry Chef competition with Ruth Charles of Roy’s Inn in second place and Jimmy Matthews of Raffles Resort Canouan in third place.
