St. Hill displays corporate goodwill

The true meaning of being a good corporate citizen was demonstrated by St. Hill Insurance Company Ltd. to the Thomas Saunders Secondary School through a donation on Monday, October 10.

The items, valued at $4,840, were two fans, a television, DVD player, microwave, radio/cassette/CD player, fridge and a much-needed photocopier and printer. {{more}}

Principal of the school, Frank Jones expressed gratitude to the company for its generosity and described the donation as a long-term investment and promised to take care of the items.

General Manager of St. Hill Insurance, Cecil Mc Kie described the handing-over ceremony as a “Santa Claus” event but was quick to acknowledge the stores that gave discounts when they purchased the items. He noted that his company’s aim was to make the teachers’ and students’ learning environment more comfortable so that the school could live up to its motto of “Striving for Excellence.”

Representative from the Ministry of Education, Phylis Jack noted that the contribution had eased the burden of providing fundamental items for the school and thanked the company.
