Ruth, a former student of the Belmont Primary School, the Girls’ High School and the St. Vincent Grammar School, received a B.Sc. in Physics from Manchester University in 1980. In 1987, the University of Liverpool awarded her a M.Sc. in Physics Education and in 1992 she received a M.A. in Educational Administration from Dalhousie Unversity. In 1997, when she was awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy from Dalhousie University, Canada, she was described by Professor John Portelli of Mount Saint Vincent University as “one of the finest graduate students I have ever encountered in my university teaching experience in five different universities…. She was undoubtedly the academically strongest student in (her) graduate class.”

She is remembered by her former students for her compassionate, giving, yet no nonsense nature. Her friends recall her loyalty and dependability, and principled stand on most issues.

A thanksgiving service for Dr. Reviere’s life will be held this Sunday, September 11 at the Faith Temple Church, New Montrose, from 3 p.m. She will be laid to rest at the Kingstown Cemetery.
