Man charged over July attacks
A man has been charged in connection with the attempted July 21, London attacks and is due before Bow Street Magistrates’ Court with nine others.
Abdul Sharif, 28, of Stockwell, south London, is accused of withholding information about one of the prime terror suspects – Osman Hussain. {{more}}
British detectives in Italy have been questioning Hussain, who they claim tried to blow up Shepherd’s Bush Tube.
Police want to extradite him to the UK, but he may also face charges in Italy.
Officers have been questioning Hussain in Rome’s Regina Coeli (Queen of Heaven) prison for the past two days.
An inquiry into whether Hussain, also known as Hamdi Isaac, should face international terror charges in Italy is under way.
His Italian lawyer, Antonietta Sonnessa, said he had told them he “had no intention to kill anyone” and claimed the 21 July attack was just a “demonstrative act.”
