Lotto winner receives reward

Racquel Ashton, a 21-year Youth Employment Service worker at the Troumaca Health Centre is planning to study accounting. And she is well poised to accomplish her dreams. She won the June 14 national Lotteries authorities draw.

Ashton lives in the South Windward village of Carapan but she could be considered something of a true Vincy national. She was born on the north Leeward village of Rose Hall where her mother is from.{{more}}

Racquel is reveling in some glory. She is the June 14, 2005 Lotto winner. Her winnings are $247,000 but she will end up with some $225,000 after the ten- percent mandatory tax withdrawal is made.

She is thankful to the Almighty God who has inspired her into picking the numbers. Ashton came up with the number 8: 16: 17: 20 and 25, which turned in that evening’s draw.

Her father is from Stubbs on the South Windward district and he has been a non- stop lotto player. Racquel is grateful to her father for her persistency, but for that draw, she asked him to buy the ticket for her. It turned out to be a winning number.

“I just pick them out of my head,” Racquel said on receiving her official cheque at the Scouts Association booth on the Tokyo Bus Terminal last Tuesday.
