Taiwanese donate more computers

The government of St.Vincent and the Grenadines has received another quantity of computers from Taiwan. Deputy Prime Minister Louis Straker, Tuesday received the computers from Ambassador Elizabeth Chu said they would be used in the Foreign Affairs Department.

The Ambassador said the computers would assist the Government to narrow the digital gap and keep up with other countries via the Internet. {{more}}

She stated that a Volunteer corp from Taiwan will visit St.Vincent and the Grenadines to help in the digital area since advanced computers and the improvements in software and hardware means better quality and service.

Meanwhile Straker said this gift forms part of an ongoing programme where every year the Government receive computers for placement in various departments to enhance the efficiency of their operations.

The equipment received, including LCD monitors, laptops and printers, cost an estimated US$60,000.
