Soroptomist Club assists Grenada

The local Soroptomist International Club has presented a cheque for $2,500 to its Grenada counterpart.

The donation, made last Thursday, March 17, in Grenada by three members of the club is to assist with the rebuilding of a School for the Deaf which was damaged by Hurricane Ivan last September. {{more}}This donation follows another that was made of building supplies through the Chamber of Commerce just days after Grenada’s disaster.

The Soroptomist Club says that $1000 of the donation was collected at a special service held at the Streams of Power Church with the rest coming from a Valentine’s lunch and personal donations from club members.

The Soroptomist delegation to Grenada comprised Kathryn Cyrus – Treasurer, Zeitha Hadaway – President and Annelle Thomas.
