Zoila Ellis-Browne, speaking to the media Tuesday, noted that besides being a professional Garifuna cultural troupe, which will share their traditions, there visit is significant, because they may be the first official delegation from Honduras to return to St.Vincent & the Grenadines since being exiled in 1797.

They will give two performances, one at the Peace Memorial Hall on Friday 11th and another on Saturday March 12th. The shows begin at 7 nightly. Proceeds from the show will go towards the building fund to construct a Garifuna Cultural Centre, among other things.

A workshop will be held on Saturday March 12th from 9am at the Peace Memorial Hall for artistes willing to know more about the indigenous culture. A dinner will be held under the auspices of Governor General Sir Frederick Ballantyne and Lady Ballantyne at Government House on Sunday March 13th

Some of the other actitivities include the annual wreath laying ceremony at the Obelisk on March 14, the Secondary Schools Quiz Competition to be held at the Methodist Church Hall on Thursday 24 from 1pm. It is being organised by the Community College Heritage Club and the UNESCO National Commission.
