Man found dead in river

The lifeless body of Noel McBarnette was discovered, face down, in a river at Arnos Vale on Sunday.

Grieving relatives said that the 42-year-old man might have been there since Saturday, December 18, though the body was not discovered until midday Sunday. {{more}}

“On Saturday a man climbing the pole said a man was lying in the river but nobody take it for anything,” said Lenore Nelson, a cousin of McBarnette.

Nelson said McBarnette, a father of two, suffers from epilepsy and might have had a seizure leading to his untimely demise in the river.

The police are investigating the matter.
