The NIPI is a government-owned company, which started operations in November 2003. Before its establishment, the Development Corporation – DEVCO – was responsible for promoting this country as a host to investors.
The mission of the NIPI is to facilitate sustainable economic growth of St. Vincent and the Grenadines by attracting foreign direct investment. The company’s slogan is “Bridging the gap between host country St. Vincent and the Grenadines and the Investor”.
Senior public servants were on Friday, June 11th, enlightened on the functions of the institution, as the NIPI hosted the first in a series of stakeholders’ consultations at the conference room of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
Friday’s meeting heard presentations by Chairman Edmond Jackson, Executive Director Suzanne Joachim, Marketing Officer Cleo Jones-Huggins and board member Peter DeAbreau.
The consultations, which will also be held with the private sector, are aimed at introducing the stakeholders to the NIPI, and to get their input on the way forward for the institution. The series of consultations will culminate with the official launch of the NIPI in August.
