The students, who were a part of a Canada- Caribbean Distance Education Scholarship Programme, completed their degrees through weekly teleconferences, online course materials and occasional visits from professors of the institutions.
A release from the Mount Saint Vincent University stated that due to the success of the model, it is attempting to introduce the programme elsewhere in the Caribbean. Since this year International admissions have increased by 75 per cent at the university.
