Vincy Masters vs Calliaqua in SVG Over 35’s football final

Computec Vincy Masters and Calliaqua will tussle it out in the finals of the 2016/2017 National Lotteries Authority SVG Over 35’s Masters Football Competition, set for this Sunday at the Victoria Park.

The two advanced from last Tuesday’s semi-finals in contrasting fashion.

Vincy Masters stopped The Expendables 3-0, with goals coming from Dexter Walker, Wesley Charles and Rohan Keizer, while Calliaqua had to depend on kicks from the penalty spot to overcome a plucky Sion Hill.

Both Calliaqua and Sion Hill had played to a 1-1 draw in regulation time, with Dazwell Cambridge scoring for Sion Hill from a tap in and Lezlo Mc Kenzie for Calliaqua, from his trademark – a header.

In kicks from the spot, Calliaqua trumped 3-1.

Before Sunday’s final, which is set for a 7 p.m. start, Sion Hill and The Expendables will battle for the third place from 6 p.m.

The winner of the finals earns $3,000, second place – $2,000 and third – $1,000.

South Leeward won the last competition staged in 2015, with Computec Vincy Masters second and Sion Hill – third.(RT)
