The 67-member strong Sion Hill band outplayed the Scotiabank South East Steel Orchestra, and the former champions Sea Operations Starlift Steel Orchestra into second and third places respectively, on a night when the pan sides shared the stage with the Sections of the Bands.

The Sion Hill team played their hearts out in their own version of the Ron Pompey hit “Ah Bussing It,” to the satisfaction of their fans, and were awarded by the judges for a job well done.

The Scotiabank South East Steel Orchestra, with their rendition of Alston “Becket” Cyrus’ “Ooh La La,” pulled off a surprise by moving one place up in the positions, into second this year, compared with their third place performance in 2013.

Meanwhile, former perennial winner, Sea Operations Starlift, had to settle for the third place position this year, with their interpretation of “Carnival Time,” originally done by The Rebels band.(JJ)
