Vinlec sponsors Junior Panorama

St Vincent Electricity Services Limited (VINLEC) has donated $35,000 to the Youlou Pan Movement for the sponsorship of the 2014 VINLEC Junior Panorama Competition.{{more}}

The festival, which will be held on Sunday, June 29 at Carnival City, Victoria Park, forms part of the calendar of activities for Vincy Mas.

Speaking at a press conference hosted by the Carnival Development Corporation on Tuesday, Communications officer Tamara Job-Sprott said that VINLEC was pleased to be associated with the Junior Panorama festival for another year and that the company is pleased with the growth of the art form over the years. She noted that VINLEC’s contribution to the festival is in keeping with the company’s commitment to support and promote culture and the arts.

Job-Sprott indicated that VINLEC’s contribution to Vincy Mas is not only in the area of pan, but that the company ensures that there is a supply of reliable, quality electricity at Victoria Park through the placement of a crew at all of the CDC hosted events.

Ten bands will compete in Sunday’s show. Five will compete in the school’s category and five in the community based category. The show is scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
