Port Authority puts Genesis Steel Orchestra in tune with T-shirts
A quantity of T-shirts was on Friday, June 20 handed over to the Port Authority Genesis Steel Orchestra.{{more}}
The brief ceremony was held at the Cruise Ship Berth.
Charmaine Tappin John, human resource manager of the Port Authority, said it is the fourth time they were having the ceremony and the fourth time that the Port Authority is sponsoring the steel pan side.
âWe are happy and proud to be doing this. Over the past four years, we have been providing Genesis with uniforms and other forms of support to ensure that this band, which was born out of the Pan Against Crime campaign continues to be a band that is productive to SVG…,â Tappin-John stated.
This year, besides the band entering the junior competition of Panorama, they will compete in the senior competition as well.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Jonathan Nichols also shared brief remarks at the handing over. (KW)
