Richie Spice takes over SVG this weekend

Organizers of one of the biggest charity events of the year are said to be bracing themselves for the first ever Can Fest weekend.{{more}}

CEO of the LIME Scotia Bank Can Fest, Kenton Ollivierre, says the organization has decided to make Can Fest into more than a one-day charity event.

Today, Friday, December 13, “reggae fever” comes to SVG as international reggae star Richie Spice headlines Can Fest for the first time. When promoters of the event were asked why they chose Richie Spice, they responded that his positive lyrics and his huge fan base were key factors; they hastened to add that patrons can also expect to see an explosion of local talent in the form of former Ragga Soca Monarch and reigning Calypso Monarch, Skarpyon, as well as Yaphetou, upcoming stars Prez, New Starz, Wizz Kid and a variety of dance groups, including Ground Breakers.

On Saturday, December 14, attention will shift to Club Dzia where Budweiser, the newest beer brand in the local market, will join with Can Fest to present the Budweiser After party with Richie Spice.

Ollivierre of Main Eventz stated that this new addition is designed to give Vincentians a better opportunity to have a more personal performance from Richie Spice, as well as to interact with him more. Last, but not least, will be the charity football match between the Can Fest 11 and the FF 11 (Football Federation 11) on Sunday, December, 15th at Victoria Park from 5:30 p.m. Persons can still get their tickets from First Choice Enterprises 1 & 2 when they purchase three cans of food or through LIME Top Up specials.

2013 continues to be the year of ‘firsts’ for the LIME Scotia Bank Can Fest, as ticket holders have the opportunity to win a 37 in Flat Screen TV, as well as grocery hampers and other goodies from First Choice Enterprises. Furthermore, with the increased use of Social Media, Main Eventz will reward one of its Facebook fans who ‘share’ and ‘like’ the Can Fest video advert, with a ticket to the most extraordinary end of year event, Hypnosis.
