Fashion designer Kimon Baptiste told SEARCHLIGHT on Monday that things are falling into place for the highly anticipated DejaVu: Past, Present and Future fashion show, slated for March 2, at the Balcombe’s Residence in Indian Bay.

The former Miss SVG said that 30 models are currently going through the paces, in preparation for the event, which will feature local designers, and international designer Viktor Luna.

They are being trained by Isheka DeRiggs and Deloris Glasgow at the Altitude Sports Bar in Kingstown.

“We will have five local designers, including myself: it’s Lisa Cordice of Poshelle, Shernicia Myers, Tammi B (Tamika Brown) and Donna Weekes.”

“Viktor is actually coming along nicely he sent me some pictures of what he’s done so far and it’s very exquisite. His collection is called ‘Viktor Luna Gala’ and it’s something to look forward to.”

Baptiste added that the fashion village, which takes place prior to the runway presentations, is expected to be one of a kind, featuring not only the expected designer accessories, but also a whole lot more.

“We are trying to prepare a full package in the fashion village… it’s what we call miscellaneous designers. It has now encompassed everything fashion in terms of health and beauty; we have artists involved as well, coming to showcase their work.

“We’ve gotten some local persons who produce oils and herbal products in body, hair and gift baskets and then immediately after that we have the runway presentations, so the fashion village is actually something to look forward to, to come and buy products and sample products and relax. The atmosphere is one that is going to be truly Caribbean.”

As for her, Baptiste said that she has been spending time between getting her collection ready, but guarantees that persons attending the show would be quite pleased by what they see, feel and experience.

Tickets for the show are available at Kimmystic.Clo fashions, Courts St Vincent Limited and at SEARCHLIGHT newspaper. (JJ)
