Miss Carival 2011 Iantavian Queely returns to hand over her crown

Miss Carival 2011 Iantavian Queely is back in St Vincent and the Grenadines to crown this year’s winner, and has some words of advice for the contestants.{{more}}

“Don’t be easily intimidated!”

She urged the ten competitors to be confident, and to use every experience while here to their advantage.

Queely, who represented St Kitts and Nevis, was especially keen that her home island’s representative this year pay heed to her words.

She explained that although she wishes all the contestants the best of luck, she would like to see the crown kept in St Kitts and Nevis for another year.

St Kitts and Nevis has previously won the competition six times, with Haley Cassius in 1988, Jannette Maloney in 1992, Anginette Pujard in 1994, Gloria Esdale in 1997, Kamara Louisy in 2000, and Iantavian Queely in 2011.

The competition will be especially thick between St Kitts and Nevis and SVG, who has also won the crown six times.

Queely said that although she has fulfilled her duties by attending and participating in several events over the past year, both regionally and internationally, it has been a relatively quiet experience.

With five crowns already under her belt, the Kittitian beauty said that she is giving pageantry a rest to follow other pursuits.

“Unless I get the opportunity to do Miss Universe. Then, I will come out of retirement!”(JV)
