“I feel great once again. When I came here I felt positive and said I will be there and will be there again next year,” Williams told SEARCHLIGHT.

Performing his 2012 presentation ‘Feelings’, he beat Shernelle ‘Skarpyon’ Williams doing a song called ‘Fun Fair’ and former Ragga Soca and Road March King Raeon ‘Madzart’ Primus doing ‘F,L,Y,’ into third place.

Williams said that his focus is now on the big Soca Monarch, scheduled for July 7, at which time he says that he is unsure if he will be performing the same song or another.

He spoke of his intentions for the rest of the Carnival season, saying that he still has his Ragga Soca and Calypso to release.

And he is very serious about his intention to make it a hat trick next year, saying that his 2013 presentation has already been written and would be recorded in the studio next week.

Williams thanked all who supported him and he said that this year, the Vincentian public will be able to see more of him as he and an entourage intend to move throughout the country and will be making appearances at various shows.

“So, we starting off now,” he told SEARCHLIGHT.

Rounding up the six contenders in the Best New Song Soca category were Vasita ‘First Lady’ Caine performing her variation to Mr Vegas’ ‘Bruk it Down’, called ‘Back it up’ in her first outing in the best new song competition; Keith ‘Lil Pain’ Currency doing ‘In a circle;’ and Shazeke John doing ‘Waist line power’.
