Antz, Kally through to Green Synergy Finals

DJ Antz and DJ Kally won the second and third legs of the 2011 Heineken Green Synergy DJ Competition held at the Diamond Industrial Estate and the Rabbacca Dry River on Saturday, August 13 and 14, respectively.{{more}}

Witnessed by a very enthusiastic crowd at the Diamond Industrial Estate, Saturday’s competition featured three participants: DJ Fabulous, DJ Badwayz and DJ Antz. DJ Badwayz and DJ Antz outperformed the other competitor in the first round to advance to the final clash of the night. DJ Badwayz was defeated in overwhelming fashion as DJ Antz won the night’s competition, earning himself qualification for the Heineken Green Synergy Finals.

“Big up all the supporters that came out to the show. It feels good coming from being a bedroom DJ and having the opportunity to showcase my skills in the public,” said Antonio Richards, a.k.a DJ Antz of Peruvian Vale.

“I have been a bedroom DJ for more than 5 years now, and I feel proud of coming out and earning this type of respect; I am looking forward to going to the Finals of the competition and doing my best.”

The Heineken Green Synergy then headed to the Rabbacca Dry River on Sunday, August 14, for the third round of competition. A very large and responsive crowd attended the event which was contested by five DJs: DJ Splinta, DJ Hustla, D Original Pitbull, DJ Bopeep and DJ Kally. After the first rounds of competition, D Original Pitbull and DJ Kally remained for the final clash round. In a heated battle, DJ Kally defeated D Original Pitbull to earn himself a place in the Finals of Green Synergy.

“Large up my family and friends, President Bota, DJ Kal, the Hilltop Massive, and all the Heineken DJs that took part,” said Kalbert “DJ Kally” Springer of Park Hill. “I feel real energetic going into the Finals of the Heineken Green Synergy Competition.”

DJ Antz and DJ Kally will now join DJ Shatta Nines and last year’s champion DJ Multivator in the Finals of the Heineken Green Synergy Competition 2011. The winner of the Finals of the Heineken Green Synergy DJ Competition will receive a grand prize of XCD $5000, as well as the opportunity to travel to St. Lucia to represent St. Vincent and the Grenadines at the Regional Finals of the Heineken Green Synergy.
