Five ready for Miss North Windward this weekend!

The annual North Windward Carnival will take place this weekend under the slogan “Country Carnival…A Different Supmu for 2011”.{{more}}

This evening, five young women will take part in the Miss North Windward Pageant, which will be held at the Langley Park Boxing Plant from 8:00 p.m.

The contestants are: 16 year old Suellywn Spring, who will appear as Miss Owia Salt pond; Banzella Hoyte, 17 years old, is Miss Baliene; Shannell Pierre, also 17 years old, is Miss Black Point. Roneasha Lorraine, Miss La Soufriere, is also 17 years old, while 18-year-old Shaffiquer Nanton is Miss Bloody Bridge.

Entertainment at the show will be provided by Nu Flava sounds, Dj Buku, Live Band, with performances by Gallanaire, Gao, Porsah, Columbian, as well as a mas tent parade and dance groups.

The show will be followed by J’Ouvert, then by a street party, also on June 4, and finally a Wet fete from 8:00 p.m.

The North Windward Carnival Committee is looking forward to the support of the general public and promises them a rural carnival with a difference.
