Five lasses vie for the title of Miss SVG Teen
Following the successes over the last seven years of the annual Miss SVG Teen competition, producer Angenella Young – Managing Director Le Andre Modelling Agency is again proud to be hosting the 8th Annual Miss SVG Teen{{more}} & SVG Young and Upcoming Designer 2011 show, a premiere teen cultural event.
This yearâs show, which will be contested by five teenagers, will be held this evening, Friday, May 20, at the Arnos Vale Sporting Complex, beginning at 7:00 p.m.
The participating schools and delegates are: Miss Bishopâs College – Faylice John; Miss Dr. J.P Eustace Memorial – Sernice Wilson; Miss West St George Secondary – Kawana Ash; Miss Campden Park Secondary – Kurtisha Baptiste; Miss North Union Secondary – Sierra Baptiste.
Each contestant will be judged in three areas: Promotional Speech, Cheerleading/Dance Talent Spot and Prom Wear.
For the promotional speech, each contestant will deliver a three minute speech on the Caricom Single Market and Economy (CSME). In the Cheerleading/Dance Talent Spot segment, each young lady will be required to demonstrate her cheerleading or dancing ability. For the Prom Wear segment, the delegates will demonstrate their style, poise and grace while wearing evening dresses.
The Young and Upcoming Design competition will also be held at the show. This competition seeks to discover and nurture new talents and new blood in the design industry while providing young aspiring designers with an opportunity to showcase their talent.
