LIME launches Carnival Sweepstake

LIME, this country’s only full service telecommunications provider, has announced its upcoming activities as the official telecommunications provider for Vincy Mass 2010. The Company, last Friday, launched its Carnival Sweepstake promotion activities at a Press Conference under the theme “LIME for Living, LIME is Carnival.”{{more}} The highlight of the Carnival Sweepstake is a Grand Prize of $10,000. LIME customers will have eleven ways of entering the sweepstake which include, among other things, LIME $5 Day Pass, International call offer, Postpaid Connect 4, $99 Broadband and much more.

LIME’s acting General Manager, Lydia Courtney-Francis, reaffirms: “LIME is very proud to be a super platinum sponsor of St. Vincent and The Grenadines national premier Festival. Our investment in this festival is in excess of EC$300,000 and is in keeping with one of the company’s 5C’s mandate to enhance the community in which we operate. We are in the final year of a three year contract with the CDC and this partnership will most definitely continue into the future.”

Also present at the launch were Minister of Culture René Baptiste, Minister of Tourism Glen Beache, CDC Chairman Dennis Ambrose and Manager of St Vincent Distillers Ltd, Phillippa Greaves. All three high profile stakeholders gave brief remarks and endorsements to LIME for its contribution to the development of Vincy Mas. Said Baptiste: “LIME is more than a sponsor. They are a partner, and even in tough economic times the company has committed to investing in our largest cultural event dubbed “The Hottest Carnival in the Caribbean.”

CDC Chairman Dennis Ambrose expressed the view that the relationship between LIME and the CDC has grown from strength to strength over the years and it took vision from the CDC three years ago to engage in a contract with LIME. “As a result of this decision we saw LIME continuing their sponsorship even though times are bad economically,” said Ambrose.

Phillipa Greaves from St Vincent Distillers Ltimited also spoke at the launch event and gave her company’s commitment to Vincy Mas through partnership with the LIME Monday advertising band.

Included in LIME’s lineup of activities and platinum sponsorship of Carnival is sponsorship of Island Networks representing the LIME Vincy Soca Dans which includes Luta, Fireman Hooper, Jamsey P, Tabia, president DJ Taurus and managed by Heric Horne. This year the “Soca Bards” have already created some excitement with smash hits like “Throw Bad mind”, “Sing Ah Sankie” and “Tight Spot”.

The biggest hit for the company this year is the sponsorship of a Monday advertising t-shirt band. The company will team up with the LIME Soca Dans, St.Vincent Distillers “SLR Rum” and other interested partners to bring Vincentians the hottest Monday band on the road for Vincy Mas. On Carnival Tuesday LIME will display passion and brilliance as it partners with Ahdrenalin Mas in the section of the band “Decadence”. LIME will also sponsor rural Carnivals in Georgetown, Mespo, South Rivers, Chateaubelair and Calliaqua.

The company is also expected to have Toronto Lime on the ground as well, working closely as they have done over the past 2 years.

Other activities for the season include, Live Streaming of carnival shows, weekly sales at Heritage Square & various communities and a massive Carnival Sweepstake where customers can win prizes and services. The grand prizes include EC$10k CASH, weekend for two at Young Island Resorts and one year’s worth of broadband service or a blackberry smartphone.

At the Miss SVG show on May 29th the company will be represented by contestant Ms Anna Ellis. The contestant will bear the name Miss LIME. Miss Ellis is assured of the support of the entire LIME family as she vies for the coveted Ms SVG title.

Courtney -Francis thanked the key stakeholders of Vincy Mas including the CDC, Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Tourism and National Lotteries for their support of LIME and reaffirms her company’s commitment to the development of Vincy Mas.

The event was carried live on Nice radio, Hitz FM and We FM simultaneously. South East Steel Orchestra also performed at the event.

LIME extends best wishes to the CDC and the people of St.Vincent and the Grenadines for a successful Carnival 2010. “LIME for living, LIME is Carnival”
