Party animals jam for J’Ouvert
This yearâs JâOuvert celebrations proved to be a hit as many turned out in night gowns, scary masks, old mas costumes, revealing outfits and facial paint to start off the Monday jump up activities for Vincy Mas 2007.{{more}}
Patrons partied from Sunday night into the wee hours of Monday morning from Grenville Street to Granby Street, Sharpe Street to Bay Street; all were eager to jam in a band or just paint their bodies.
The Mud Band title went to Red Devils with Rise taking the second spot followed by Chocolate.
JâOuvert Fanatics won the âOle Masâ competition for best band with their production âMouth open JâOuvert story jump out.â
Katie Daisy (right) was crowned Queen of JâOuvert with her portrayal of âPearlâ. Annette Llewellyn took the second spot with âParty Animalâ and Ellen Bailey had to settle for third place with her portrayal of âAh lose me memoryâ.
King of JâOuvert went to Aubrey Burgin with his portrayal of âThree of a Kindâ. Coming in behind Burgin was Cecil âCessâ Mc Kie with âGlobal Warmingâ and Ainsley Primus with âUS by CDC bound and gaggedâ. (KW)
