Barbadian artiste Peter Ram was forced to apologize or spend some time in local jail, following an early morning outburst of profanity during his performance at the Victoria Park.
Ram, a reggae turned soca singer, was a guest artiste at Saturday nightâs soca monarch semi finals along with fellow Barbadian Biggie Irie when the incident occurred.
Ram was going through his rendition of âI Want A Woman By My Sideâ when he launched into a tirade against homosexuals, during which the âFâ word was used.
According to a release by the Carnival Development Corporation, which had contracted Ram to perform, their officials immediately contacted the police who ordered Ram to return to the stage and apologize to the audience and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
The CDC in the release said that it is policy of the corporation to indicate to artistes that profanity is prohibited.
The CDC also issued an apology to patrons who were present at the show. (JJ)
