Four vie for Miss South Leeward crown
The Constituency of South Leeward will be a hive of carnival activity this weekend. Thatâs when the South Leeward Carnival Committee, in conjunction with the Carnival Development Cooperation and the St Vincent Brewery Limited, host its 2007 Carnival.{{more}}
The activities run from June 22 to June 24 under the theme âRevitalizing Culture…A Rural Phenomenonâ.
The activities include a Hairoun Beer South Leeward Soca contest called âSoca Invasionâ, which is a new feature to South Leeward Carnival.
Friday nightâs show will see Man Stone, Fine Sack, Stinging Nettle, Silly Dilly and Wu-Tang Ballerz competing. They will sing two songs, one original, the other from any local soca artiste.
The Vita Malt Miss South Leeward Queen Show takes place on Saturday with four young ladies gracing the stage, making four appearances in swim wear, talent, evening wear and the interview segment.
The contestants are Latish Williams – Miss Cane Grove, Stacy Collis – Miss Penniston, Kellon Grant – Miss Dubois and Shera Culzac – Miss Clare Valley.
The Hairoun Beer Street Jump-up takes place from Campden Park to Vermont on Sunday and begins at 2 p.m. at Sweet Spot in Campden Park.
The Soca Monarch Show, which begins at 8 p.m. and Queen Show, which starts at 7:30 p.m. will both take place at the Penniston Community Centre.
