Despite a few minor setbacks, plans and preparations appear to be well underway for Vincy Mas 2007.

He said that so far, the music that has been released has been very appealing, and urged soca and raga soca artistes to register early for the soca monarch competition scheduled for July 7th.
He also appealed for more businesses to get involved in the t-shirt bands for the Monday afternoon street jump up.
Speaking on tomorrow nightâs Miss SVG pageant, the Corporationâs next event, Ambrose congratulated the eight contestants for taking the bold decision to compete and said that he looks forward to a packed Victoria Park.
Also speaking at the press conference was Minister of Culture Rene Baptiste, who congratulated the contestants in the Miss SVG pageant slated for tomorrow.
Baptiste among other things praised the absence of violence from CDC organized events, and credited this to the âNo Bottle Policyâ which is enforced at these functions.
The minister also used the opportunity to urge mas bands to preserve their costumes, which may come in handy for cultural packages in the tourism industry throughout the year.
A number of sponsors also came forward to show their support to the CDC on Tuesday.
Representatives of the St. Vincent Electricity Services (VINLEC), Bank of Nova Scotia and Edwin D Layne and Sons presented the Corporation with cheques, and reinforced their commitment to the development of Carnival in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. (JJ)
