Jamaican impressed

Jamaican Jackie Cohen of Mutamba Fashions told SEARCHLIGHT that the Fashion Caribbean end product is the manifestation of the hard work done by Managing Director of the Image Modelling Agency Monique Tash and her crew. {{more}}
“This was more professional than last year and had more sponsorship,” said Cohen. “ I’m definitely coming back.”
Cohen, who said that it is very hard to find fabric where she’s from, revealed that she buys Indian saris, “and chop them up to make my clothing”. Cohen also does a lot of hand-painting designs. She says that she is in love with fabrics like cotton and silk and natural fibres that can breathe and are soft and comfortable.
Fashion Caribbean had some 16 designers, four of which were local, and one Dawn Bacchus, who has Vincentian roots.
