Kenute Hazelwood Benn

Sunset: 4th May 2014 Romford, Essex and Layou, St Vincent.

The late Kenute Hazelwood Benn, known as ‘Bennie’, and son of Mercilyn and Donallie Hazelwood of Layou, St Vincent, West Indies.

Bennie left Layou, St Vincent on 16th August, arrived in the UK on the 29th August 1956, and died in Romford on 4th May 2014.

His entire family thanks all who sympathised with them at home and abroad on their recent loss in his home town of Layou, and who also showed their love and support in his lifetime, on holiday from time to time.

His son Clifton and his wife Yvonne, his niece-in-law Vera, his grandson and great grandson, his sister Ellie and family, his brother Artis and wife Murla and their family, his nieces and nephews and all their families.

Bennie was a hard-working family man who worked long hours to provide for his family; his funny jokes and his happy smile kept him going through thick and thin. Bennie would go back to St Vincent every year on holiday, and stay with his companion Marjorie, and would enjoy his time in the sunshine.

Bennie was a very strong person and tried to live his life to the fullest; he will be sadly and greatly missed by all who knew him. He was very kind and always giving from the love and kindness which came from the heart.

May the light perpetual shine upon him, and may his soul rest in peace.
