Caribbean Medical Mission back in SVG

At a time when health care continues to soar, the team of doctors and nurses of the Caribbean Medical Mission (CMM) knows the importance of giving back to the community.

Made up of medical experts from Caribbean territories but who now live and practice their profession in the United States, the team first arrived in this country last year and were able to tend to over 3,000 patients.{{more}}

Local coordinator of the programme, Donald Thomas, pointed out that the CMM team would be visiting Georgetown, Chateaubelair, Bequia and Canouan on this trip. He noted that the doctors would be visiting these areas for one day only and urged persons with medical problems to visit the various clinics in these districts to get treatment.

Thomas highlighted, “The doctors will be doing work in areas such as dentistry, optometry, obstetrics and gynecology. So I want Vincentians to make use of this opportunity because medical treatment and medication at these levels are very expensive. These doctors are very successful in the United States and are not looking for money. They just want to give back.”

Thomas noted that the team was very impressed with the hospitality they received when they visited last year and are eager to return to St.Vincent and the Grenadines.

They will arrive on Saturday, July 22, and will begin free medical care for persons in Georgetown on Monday, July 24, in Chateaubelair on Tuesday, July 25, in Bequia on Wednesday, July 26 and in Canouan on Thursday, July 27.
