CDC launches 2026 Vincy Mas with a difference
In keeping with the theme for Vincymas 2026 “The Great Escape”, the Carnival Development Corporation (CDC) used this year’s media launch on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 to show exactly why St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG), and this year’s Vincymas is destined to be epic.
Exemplifying an intent to be different, the media launch served as the precursor.
Held aboard the Catamaran “Ambience”, a scenic sail along the leeward coast to Wallilabou Anchorage, reflected the essence of this year’s tagline, “The Great Escape.” The official programme and presentations took place while sailing. Simultaneously a group of traditional
Monkey Band masqueraders made their way along the streets from Barrouallie to Wallilabou, right on cue with the docking of the Ambience.
As the vessel sailed on the Northwestern coastline of the mainland, remarks were made by representatives of the various components- Mas, Calypso and Pan, along with Kaschaka Cupid, Minister of Youth, Sports, Culture and the Creative Industries, and Dr. Kishore Shallow Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation and Sustainable Development.
