Opposition Leader rebukes Education Minister over remarks about teachers

Former Prime Minister Dr Ralph Gonsalves, has taken issue with recent statements made by Minister of Education Phillip Jackson about teachers.

Speaking at a consultation on school violence earlier this month, minister Jackson blamed teachers for failures in the system. He said that while there are many teachers who love what they do, there are some of them who see teaching as just a job and are in it only for the money.

While speaking at the forum, the minister also complained about the lack of empathy among educators.
