Man Remanded After Alleged Attempted Murder and Robbery
A New Montrose man was remanded into custody after he allegedly attempted to murder another man by shooting him about his body, landing him in the Intensive Care Unit(ICU) at hospital.
Shemar Garraway appeared at the Serious Offences Court before Chief Magistrate Colin John, on Monday, March 16, 2026 where he pleaded guilty that on March 13, 2026 at Riley, with intent to commit the offence of murder on Ezekiel Williams of Riley, did an act which is more than merely preparatory to the commission of the offence.
Garraway was also charged that being armed with a gun, he robbed Williams of 15 pounds of medical cannabis valued EC$6,000.00, and in order to do so used force on him.
Garraway was not allowed to plea to the indictable charge laid against him.
The alleged offence arose out of a shooting incident where Williams sustained gunshot wounds about his body. He is currently warded in the ICU at the Milton Cato Memorial Hospital.
After the charge was laid, Garraway was remanded into custody. He will return to court on March 23, 2026.
