No more State adverts for Star Radio
Opposition Leader Dr. Ralph Gonsalves, has appealed for support to keep Star Radio on the air. This appeal was made on his Wednesday morning February 25, 2026 talk-show where he stated: “ Despite all the talk by the government, the new government, the NDP government, about supporting democracy and all the rest of it. [I] Just want to tell you that the state companies have been pulling their ads from Star. They want to kill Star. They want to steal this voice”.
He went on to say, “State agencies which place ads with Star, practically every single one of them is gone. They want to starve Star into submission”.
Star Radio “ is the voice of 44 per cent of the people. This is the voice of a radio station owned by the opposition”, the Opposition Leader said of the radio station which is owned by the Unity Labour Party (ULP).
