ADMIRAL FERRIES Ltd Management and Directors has formally announced the cessation of all ferry operations, effective today, Friday, February 25, 2026.
“We extend our sincere gratitude to our valued passengers, partners, staff, and the communities we have proudly served throughout our years of operation.Your trust and support have been deeply appreciated.”
All scheduled services are discontinued as of the above date”, a post announcing the end of an era stated. It added, “thank you for being part of our journey”. No reason was given for the cessation of the service.
While some questioned the authenticity of this notice and the short time frame of the announcement, others immediately expressed their sadness at seeing the last of an essential part of the transportation infrastructure between Bequia and St.Vincent.
“So sorry to hear. Know that Admiral will always be known as “the first Steel hull ferry Bequia ever had”. She will always be remembered as the best ferry for the rough seas. She sailed well through the crazy Atlantic waves,” were some of the social media comments. “Thank you for your service over the decades.
To say we will miss seeing you move across our waters is a deep understatement.”
“Great service through the years. We will miss you and the crew”. “Very sad.The Admiral will be missed”, others added.
Admiral Ferries Ltd urged persons to contact them at their email: admiralferries@ gmail.com, for or any outstanding business matters, inquiries, or correspondence.
With a capacity for over 250 passengers, Admiral 2 also offered roll-on/roll-off capabilities for vehicles.
It sailed the St. Vincent Bequia route daily several times a day with varying schedules, depending on the season.
Typically, the journey took about one hour, making it a quick and efficient way to travel between the two islands.
Admiral ferries, as we now know them, stemmed from the Admiralty Transport Company, which, for some four decades, ensured the seamless movement of passengers, vehicles, and cargo between St.Vincent and Bequia.
Established at a time when travel between the two islands was sorely needed, it soon became an essential transport service.
The most significant aspects of Admiral were its reliability and dedication to providing dependable ferry services.
While Admiral, which was once the main regular transport to and from Bequia, has ceased service, there are now many other options.
