No new taxes in 2026 Budget
THE New Democratic Party administration, in its 2026 Budget is seeking to take St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) from a state of recovery, to one of resilience.
Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Dr Godwin Friday presented a $1.9 billion Appropriation Bill to run the affairs of the country for the 2026 fiscal year.
There are no new taxes, and in his Budget address on Monday, February 9, 2026, the prime minister explained that financing for this budget will come from current revenue, capital receipts and through prudent borrowing.
Current revenue is projected at $906.9 million. This year, the government will focus on collecting existing taxes, rather than imposing new taxes on the people of St Vincent and the Grenadines.
