Woman overcomes spotty school attendance, graduates university
A YOUNG VINCENTIAN, who was unable to attend both primary and secondary school on a regular basis due to financial difficulties, has overcome the odds to be the first member of her family to graduate from university.
On January 17, 2026, 22-year-old Minchu Keizer graduated from the University of the West Indies(UWI), Mona Campus in Jamaica, where she double majored in Accounting and Human Resources during her completion of a Bachelor of Science degree and achieved first class honours, a near perfect grade point average(GPA) and landed the Valedictorian Proxime Accessit title.
Keizer, who is the youngest of four children missed school often because her single parent mother could not afford to cover the cost of both primary and secondary education.
