2025 Nine Morning Festival launched
THE 2025 national Christmas and Nine Mornings Festival was launched on Sunday, December 14, with a colourful parade through the streets of Kingstown involving members of cultural, community, church, and other groups across St Vincent and the Grenadines. Culminating at Heritage Square, the official start to the unique Vincentian festival featured performances from religious and secular groups, and also heard brief addresses from Prime Minister, Dr. Godwin Friday, Minister of Culture, Kaschaka Cupid, as well as chairman of the National Nine Mornings Committee, Orande ‘Bomani’ Charles. The large, appreciative crowd later witnessed the lighting of the national Christmas tree.
Staged in various communities across this multi-island nation, Nine Mornings activities continue to draw home-based crowds, as well as visitors and returning Vincentians. In addition to the community early morning performances and other activities, the Nine Mornings period also sees the staging of lighting competitions of individual gardens, homes, and communities.
