Public Service Commission does not care about laws, says union President
PRESIDENT OF THE Public Service Union (PSU), Elroy Boucher, believes that the Public Service Commission(PSC) does not care about the laws, and seems to promote workers based on cronyism, nepotism and political favouritism.
Boucher made these scathing claims at a press briefing yesterday, December 8, 2025 following a ruling by the High Court that Deborah Charles and Simone Huggins were unfairly appointed as Clerk and Deputy Clerk respectively of the House of Assembly.
Boucher said the judgment has implications for public servants and speaks to issues that the union has been trying to address for a number of years.
“I want to make reference to one of the statements that the judge made in that particular judgment, and to see the depth or the importance of the Public Service Commission doing the right thing, and in failure to do the right thing, the implications it could have for the proper governance of the public service.”
