Homicide in Layou again

LAYOU IS IN THE NEWS in relation to homicide again, and this time around it was a female from the area that lost her life when a gunman struck.

On Friday, November 28, 2025, at approximately 7:45 a.m., Mitah Patterson, a 34-year-old farmer of Texier Road was walking with another woman when a gunman opened fire, Patterson was struck, started running, but was pursued and shot again while her female companion ran away.

Reports are that the woman that escaped unhurt was the same person who several Sundays ago ran into a church when she was accosted by a gunman.
