NMCM: main polling day complaint, long lines
VOLUNTEERS UNDER THE auspices of the National Monitoring and Consultative Mechanism (NMCM), who have been monitoring the general elections campaign, have indicated that on election day, November 27, 2025 the polling processes were generally smooth. However, they received complaints from voters at several polling stations that lines were very long, moved slowly, and there were long delays to cast their ballots. This translated into frustrated voters. Overall, the NMCM ,however, said there were no major infractions of the General Elections Code of Conduct. Two days after the Code was signed on November 4, 2025, by representatives of the Unity Labour Party and the New Democratic Party, the team from the NMCM, which operates under the auspices of the Christian Council, began the process of monitoring the elections campaign.
