Voter numbers up by 5,400
THE FINAL LIST of eligible voters for the November 27, 2025 general elections stands at 103, 524. This is 5,405 persons more than those on the final list of voters in the November 5, 2020 general elections. There are more males registered to vote on Thursday-53,259- as against 50, 265 females.
East St George, the largest constituency which had a registered number of 9,071 voters in 2020, is still in the lead in 2025 with a total of 9,369 registered voters. It is the only constituency with more than nine thousand registered voters, and is followed by South Leeward as the constituency with the second largest number of voters- a total of 8,927.
Thirty-two candidates are contesting the polls on Thursday.The main political parties- the Unity Labour Party (ULP), of Dr. Ralph Gonsalves, and the New Democratic Party (NDP), led by Dr. Godwin Friday,
are fielding 15 candidates, one in each of the 15 constituencies, while the National Liberation Movement is fielding a single candidate- its leader, Dr. Doris Charles, in South Leeward; and there is one independent candidate, Kenna Questelles, who is contesting in West St George.
Polls open at 7:00 a.m on Thursday, November 27, 2025.The ULP is seeking a sixth consecutive term in office, while the NDP is seeking to form government for the first time in a quarter century. Each party has expressed confidence of victory at the polls.
