Party leaders ‘throw stones’ at weekend meetings
THE LEADERS of the two main political parties contesting the 2025 general elections tossed a few figurative stones at meetings held on Sunday, October, 19, 2025 at Calliaqua on the mainland, and at Paget Farm in the Bequia capital.
At the Calliaqua Playing Field, Dr Ralph Gonsalves, Leader of the Unity Labour Party (ULP) touched on a lack of ambition within the camp of the opposition New Democratic Party (NDP) as he highlighted the prospects of his team for the general elections expected later this year. East Kingstown member of parliament, Fitzgerald Bramble, he said, “never knock up a plywood”, since his return to St Vincent and the Grenadines. Bramble previously served in this country’s diplomatic service in the USA, as well as at the OAS.
Dr Gonsalves told the large Calliaqua crowd on Sunday night that Bramble’s ball has lost its shine “and he’s ripe for the pickings by Luke” Browne, the ULP candidate who is contesting against
Bramble again for the East Kingstown seat in the upcoming general elections. Dr Gonsavles said he learnt that the electorate in East Kingstown in the previous elections were saying that Browne, a lawyer, was living with his parents, wasn’t married, and they wanted to see him have some responsibility.
